Nurturing a love of a reading serves a child's social, emotional, and academic development. That said, each child's reading development is unique. Some children are reluctant to read independently but are eager to hear stories read aloud. Others are drawn to books that teach them information but shy away from stories. And then there are the children that bury themselves in fantasy stories and feel strongly about being able to determine their own reading path. The lists you find here attempt to appeal to a variety of different types of readers. If you have a book to recommend for our library, please let me know about it here.
